Today while I was catching some Bluegill for bait I hooked 2 strange looking fish that I've never caught at this pond before. They have a close resemblance in shape to a Skipjack but are Golden in color. Both are 7-8" long each. I froze them and will use them for bait. anyone ever used this type of fish for bait?

I use to use them for big bass sometimes, they worked well. I would bet a blue will gobble them up.

big shiners are almost as good as skipjacks.i always poke a hole in the gut to let out some juice seems to work faster at least for me.
