I had a few of these real early in the year . I did try them 1 time, but by time it was prime time to use them. I was not able to get any more from the local pond.

That goldfish is pretty humungus. If I could get some that size, I would probably use them more. As it is now, I avoid goldfish when possible because they don't seem nearly as productive as perch or bluegill.

I love using 3-6" goldies for flatheads. I also love using same size Israeli carp for them. My personal best flattie(33.5lbs) came on a goldfish. Last year my biggest(22.7) was on an Israeli carp.

u can get them that size in eden nc. the price you pay for them is not worth it. i think the smaller ones are just as good. gills are better and free.

With bait that size, if you get skunked, you won't go hungry.

John, how do you catch Israeli carp that size? They get the bigger ones around here by snagging, but that obviously won't work for those little ones.

I always bought my Israeli carp. I know the guy that owns a bait shop close by and he gives me a good deal. Last time I was down there,I asked if he ever had dead israelis and goldfish. He said every day. He told me to come in when he opens up in the mornings and he'd give me all the dead ones for free for cut bait.
