Well i decided to get out today for some flatties. I left the house at 1 and fished until 7. I fished three different spots during that time. 2 hours at each spot and after the first two i was ready to throw in the towel and call it quits for the season. I had plenty of taps but no runs. I got to the third spot and was throwing my second rod out when my baitrunner took off.:eek:oooh: . I was shocked.. On hook set my bail opened on the reel making the line cut my knuckles. I only felt the weight of the fish and then he was gone. About a hour later my blackcat took off. After a surprising tough fight i landed a 22 pound flattie. I didnt get another bite.

    PS
I tested the water when i got there and it was 57 degrees, when i left it was 59

Congrats on a decent flattie!!! I've already gave up this year but after seeing these flatties still biting i might just have to hit the Hocking one last time!!!

my rods are never officially put up, but after the next couple days of cold temps. i think i will be strictly fishing for channels and blues on the ohio.

They're saying low 60's for Monday.
I might give it a shot for flatheads one more time, if I don't get any, I'm going to be begging for boat rides. :smile2:
