Give me some input on a new spot. Is it good for flathead catfish?

Ok, I havent been having much success in my normal spots so Im going exploring later today. With google earth, I found a place on the Tuscarawas River where a tributary dumps in. The creek is nearly as big as the river and is very isolated in the woods so I know there is next to zero traffic there. Are these good areas for flats? Anyone else fish a similar junction? thanks

Sounds like a good spot to me! I try to target these type of areas this time of year. Seems like the channels and flats come up into these areas cause its usually shallower and warmer therefore more bait fish!

probably best when the water is high and muddy. I would suggest being prepared to catch a lot. If you hit it right. Early cold water = channels and some pretty big ones, however when the water warms up significantely you can catch some big flats in these areas. Take a lot of bait and a throw net...odds are you will have fun!
