I made a short trip to the Winyah area last Sunday afternoon, wanting to fish the incoming tide on Waccamaw, but it was a little to windy and rough for that, so ended up going to Sampit near the bait hole and set up a couple of different spots and fished for about 2-1/2 hours until the rain and wind picked up. Ended the day with a 25# and 3 smaller ones, all released. I was using cut herring, fresh mullet, and frozen american shad. They didn't seem to show a preference. Water temps were near 60 on the sampit. Marked quite a lot of fish on Waccamaw, but most of them weren't catfish.
