I just thought I'd share some pictures of how some states have their gatherings.

Notice how many people showed up, and for more than 10 minutes. Many of them probably took time off work so they could be there. Some of them worked hard to make the location the most hospitable for everyone. I'm sure a few fish were caught but it looked like it was about more than just fishing. It actually looks like it's possible for people to be committed to such an event.

hey bud, your right about the participation level, but remember we have like 30 total members in Ne. vs. 400+ in Ks and a large membership in MO.. Not saying you are not right and that it would be nice to step up to a bigger type event, but we only have so much to work with here, and some of us are more dedicated to the brotherhood than others,and some are burned out from trying.everyone is never gonna have the same commitment level as others. Your right it is not about the fishing, it is about meeting and bs'ing your fellow boc'ers! Even though we didn't catch anything and I was the ony one to be there friday I am glad I came, if for nothing else than to see Deena in action, man I wouldn't want to truely piss her off,LOL She wasn't even mad and I was scared,lol.

hey dude ya know not everyone has a lot of cash flow and for some of the guys their families are more important than driving along way and spending money they dont have.i didnt make cause for 1 idont have a boat rite now and 2 most of my fishin is done from the bank and i dont like to ask to go with someone i just met.so it sounds like to me u need to slow your role and just be glad that some people showed there support and made it there.u cant start a gathering and two weeks before change the location and expect everyone to just show up.even though a lot of people didnt make it sounds like the ones that did had a really good time.so lighten up a little and enjoy it for what it was.

FYI

I understand the money thing. A month ago I had to file a ch 13 bk. I did stick my neck out and pick a date and place when nobody else would. I even paid for a campsite, took friday off without pay to get their early enough to get a good spot so we'd all have a good place to meet. I busted my ass in the heat setting up a canopy for shade. I drove a van that gets about 11 mpg to haul all the crap there. You do the math. And for everyone in the Lincoln area who claimed to not have the $$$$ I ain't buying it. I also spent a day driving to Central City to go to a sinker pour. I'm just wondering how many people here are as committed as they pretend to be.

changed it more than once started out to be at merritt... nothin g against anyone i would have came but working 3-3 or 11-11 3 days a week and 3-11 the other 2 and being short on the help side there its hard to take a weekend off.... whens the next one

Jeff you seem a little upset about the turn out of your gathering....just remember this is all voluntairy...we do this for fun!!!! if your not having fun then don't do it!!!!!!

I never once stated I was gonna make it to this gathering...and I'm glad I didn't go either!!!

Darren and I had made plans to go to pawnee but then u guys switched it to a flooded corn field filled with yahoos I made other plans...

think I'm pretending????? na I just don't waste time anymore I got better things to do then get chewed out by my online friend!!!!!!

everyone has their reasons for doin whatever everyone is committed to this and that things come up bank accounts go down and at times life sucks we all gotta work till we hit the lottery and we all have a limited time we can fish and a limited distance we can go. we all enjoy different aspects of just about everything so everything means something different to everyone.

i understand Jeffs frustration ive been there ive tried to do the set up thing and help out with the gatherings its a headache at best whether ya start early or not. ya cant make the majority of ppl happy and even if ya do their minds change or some dont pipe up and just give out. and when you spend the time and money and things let ya down in a few areas ya go nuts and wonder why you sacrificed what ya did. thats why i put in my 2 cents and stand back now.

between the family work and the bank account i have alot to juggle with limited time off and even less time to do the things i want to do.

i also agree with everyone else with the bickering and backin off .. Jeff ive been in your shoes so to speak it dont work and theres no point cut your loses bro.

I WANNA FISH I WANNA MEET YOU ALL AND I WANNA GO TO SOME GATHERINGS.
BUT IF I CANT MAKE IT FOR ONE REASON OR ANOTHER SO BE IT ILL TRY AND MAKE THE NEXT ONE.. OTHER THEN THAT BEST PLAN IS IF YA'LL WANNA GO FISHIN POST ON THE GOIN FISHIN THREAD COUPLE DAYS EARLY AND WHO EVER CAN OR WANTS TO GO WILL HOOK UP WITH YA NO HARM NO FOUL.

i didnt mean to get anyone bent out of shape.i just said what alot where thinkin.i do know what it takes to set events up and yes it does suck when they turn out bad or disapointin but ya just got to move on.anyone ever wants to go fishin if im able i will be there,i love everything about the outdoors even if im not catchin none.so im givin everyone an open invitation ta let me know and i think steve is on to something, tell where your going and if people show up great if not ohwell more for u.sometime idreally like to fish the loup with fmb or point me in a direction on it its pretty long river not sure where to fish it.

How was the muddy mo? Muddy? I'm guessing it would be worth at least 1 trip up there this year to try the river.
