Anyone know a good way to cook Gar. I catch so many that I should turn them into a food source.

My brother in-law said he took one onetime and cooked it right in the shell. Hacked the head off with a saw gutted it and put it on the grill in the shell. Said when he opened it up after it was done was some nice white meat that was pretty good eating.

Ive never tried it but would be willing. Just wondering if anyone else eats them and how yall cook them.

    Take care.

we just cut the back straps in finger size strips.

I make a batter with -- cornmill, kentucky kernel seasoned flour, salt and pepper. ( adding just enough of the flour to make the bright yellow cornmill a dull yellow)

    batter fish and fry.
