Has anybody tried this hook less Gar lure? It has a metal head (1/2 oz) and a 6 to 9 inch piece of nylon rope. Rope has been pulled apart so that it will tangle in the Gar's teeth.

I just use antique large plugs for gar and pike. I may try that as well.. always nice to find new techniques.

I have heard of it , but its the first I seen one . I bought the bionic minnow a few years back and was messing around with it in the kaskaskia river . The gar ripped it to peices . They loved it , caught about 14 gar before they trashed it . Never caught any bass ..lol .
