Use both - haven't noticed any difference in hook up rates
Only difference I can think of might be a little easier hooking live bait with the offset.
I've used both and don't really notice much difference in hookups, but the straight works better in heavy cover. An interesting study done by the SCDNR in saltwater shows that the straight hooks seem to provide a significantly higher survival rate of released fish, though.
I have used both with no preference for either. I buy what I can find on sale and in bulk quantities.
They are the best hook made.
I use both types of Daiichi hooks with no difference. The offset shank is better for tying snell knots.
