Nice fish buddy, don't always have to catch catfish! There are many other fish that are great also, and I think that Crappie are definitely one of them!

them was fine eating fellas, get ya'll a mess of them. my trip started perfect as i set me out some throw lines with fresh shad out of the concho river. about 7:30pm i set up on some trees to catfish a bit and the sky turned black and dusty and the 20mph wind forcast i got before i went turned to about 40. i was up the colorado past the pump station and my tree broke i was tied to the wind was blowing so hard. so i pulled my lines in and went further down river to a cliff bluff i knew would break the wind. i got my trusty green light out and put it in the water about 10 foot or so and waited a bit while i put on more clothes cause it was colder than the forcast also. i could see the baitfish swimming around in about 30 minutes so i put me a large bass minow on my light spincast with 10lb cajon red line. 3 cranks off botom in 31 foot. caught one every 4 or 5 minutes till 4 in the a.m. i guess i made the best of the bad weather or the fish gods thought i could use a good night. glad i stayed, it was a blast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Personally, I love crappie. The best crappie hole around here is not blocked from the wind.
