I was just wondering if anybody knew the mixture. I have heard 50:1 and I have also heard 32:1. I have tried to find it online but one place will say 50:1 and then another will say 32:1. Im confused on it. I know that the person who had the motor before me used 50:1. But i would like to use the motor the right way.

this motor starts but then dies after i try to shift it into gear, what do you think is wrong? Could it be the carbs? I'm so mad at this motor right now.

    Billy,

Chances are good the carb is your trouble. I had a 55HP Chrysler that had sat for a number of years. It had the same trouble. It would start great and idle fine at the ramp. Put it in gear and it would immediately die out. Ran like a champ after I cleaned the carb.
