Ive been having some fuel problems lately and found that the adapter that inserts into the fuel tank could have a problem. The small black rod that depresses while inserted will come out of the adapter fairly easy, but then I can put it back in the adapter until it catches and it operates like its suppose to. Is it suppose to do this? If not what kind of problems will it cause? Thanks

The 1st picture is with the rod in the adapter and the 2nd with it out.

Walter they aren't suppose to do that. It will either slow the fuel flow down or leak which will cause air to enter there.
