well last nights trip was cut short. after a new head gasket and new water pump housing and impellor i had the boat running great. but last evening i got to the hole and checked the wind. i started to go to the bank to make a drift when the motor cut down and choked up. died at idle and wouldnt run worth a crap. water was flowing fine so i figured it was carb or plug problem.

so i ended the night early and came home. today i took carb off to clean it. before i could un hook the throttle i found my problem. a tree frog made his last mistake by climbing into the intake hole. found him straddled across the middle jet hole dead. legs hanging out the back.

so i removed the wayward carcuss and replaced the carb. think i will try it again tonight.

so who can top this tale. and i have the pics to prove it.:smile2:

im guessing he was a nascar fan living around my house he sees alot of it. im thinking he was wanting a wind tunnel test. and he got a good one. i was really goosing that motor to try and blow the clog out. he just wouldnt budge. glad though. he wouldnt have burned well, and might have became clogged in the reed valves.

I did a small yamaha, that had laid in a shed over the winter. Couldn't get it to run, Took off the carb to find a mouse had built a nest in the intake manifold behind the carb, and in the process of cranking it, I did get some kernels of corm jambed in the reeds.

Always check those reeds when ya pull a carb off.

But,, I will never be able to say that again. :smile2:

Might be time for a screen on the intake.
