Never used them myself. But i have seen people use smaller live ones and and seen others chunk them up and use them. both caught fish. Good luck.

Ive never used them live but I have used them cut a few times when I couldnt find shad. It will catch channel cats.

I have tried using fresh water drum many times. They didn't touch Creek Chubs or Shad during the times I was using both. I don't the the drum are oily enough to be a truly great catfish bait. Im not sayin you wont catch any..... but i will say you will catch way more cats with chubs, shad and shrimp.
