Well today i wnt to go checkout a area i havnt been before. It is 10 miles from my house no fees to use the launch ramp no day use fees so that was nice. The wife caught the biggest cat she has ever caught yet there so she was tickled to death over that. Now she is making fun of me she got the big fish today not me :crying: over all i feel for being real close no fees it cant be beat for a fast cheap place to go after kittys and largemouths.

Hey Mutt,
What kind of lake is Fox Grove? What does it hold?
fox grove is just the name of the fishing access its on the Tuolumne River.
at fox grove there is cat large and small mouth bass perch bluegills the norm. if you hook up with trout or salmon you have to release them though. its ok for a real close to home and no entrance costs for a fast fishing trip. the water goes from 1 foot to 30feet average depth is around 12 feet. there is a nice big wide spot up the river about a mile or so. taken some 5 pound cats from there and some nice bass but like any other place you can get skunked real easy. after that spot you can go up about another 6 miles but i cant get my bass boat through that shallow its about a foot dep and real fast current there. if you have a small boat or a jet boat no problem. i could trim up and hit it wide open to get through it but i wont take the chance with my engine. lowerends cost to much

Well that's cool. I moved up here from Fresno last year about this time. Love the quieter country life up here as opposed to Fresno. Lived in Vegas for about a year and boy was THAT wild! I think my favorite place I've lived has to be back east though in Mumfordville Kentucky. Nice piece of the green river to fish in there and a lot of farmers got sinkholes on their lands that are full of water and nice bass.
