I have one, and, for the cats I catch around here it is an excellent rod. I havent tested it out on anything over 15lbs yet.

I think that i'd go with the new hawg seeker myself....I've been looking at it and it looks like a much better set up than the shakespear.

It looks like a good set up, looking at the reviews you wouldn't go wrong. The bag they are offering for 6.95 is well worth it. It doesn't come with boxes but it sure is handy for any other extra gear you may have.

I sent in the $6.95 for the tackle bag also and it is very nice! It can be used as a duffle bag also. Well worth the $6.95 and they shipped it pretty quickly.

Just by looking at the link I don't see really anything wrong with it. I think for the price you probably won't end up in bad shape if you didn't end up liking it.

The rod is ok is just those crappy alpha reels. I would think about another reel myself. If you search the Boc you would see posts about that reel. I don't think they will last long under pressure under the bigger cats. Take a ride to Wal-Mart you will see for yourself. This is just my opinion. I have seen many people fishing with those reels and they wind up self-destructing after a few fishes.
