Yes we did get one with a tag. A few others that were up there as well. IN the process of getting the info from the DNR to see the history on them.

As far as how to catch them. Find the deepest water you can. Up there we were catching them in 21-23FOW. We were using nightcrawler.

    The gear I was using.
Heavy 8ft St.croix rod with 6500C3 with 50lb PP. 3oz weight. 50lb mono leader with a #5 gamma circle hook.

Crawlers were the preferred bait. Though some were catching them with minnows and cut bait.

watch for the light bite. You need a rod that will let you see it. Make sure that your anchored good with no boat movement.

When you hook into one. Pull up all anchors and motors, and other lines in the water. They will find them.
    good luck Mate

NICE STURGEONS! I REMEMBER WHEN I WAS LIVING IN CALIF. IN THE BAY AREA I USED TO CATCH THEM BY THE MOTH BALL FLEET, NEAR PORT CHICAGO, GOTTA TELL YA, THEY ARE GOOD EATING, NO BONES, EXCEPT THERE HEADS OF COURSE, AND I USED TO CATCH THEM WITH GRASS SHRIMP. ALWAYS USED THE CLICKER TO LET THEM TAKE THE BAIT AND THEN LET'EM HAVE IT. THEY PUT UP GOOD FIGHTS TOO! ANYWAYS, CONGRATS!
