I made four mega food plots over the labor day weekend, seed prices seem to have gone up about 25%.

I hope we get some rain

    winter peas
    wheat
    soy beans
    oats
    clover
    rye
    head rye
    chicory
    brassices ?:eek:oooh:

i bought a bag of roundup ready soybeans to mix in with my seed sure it'll die defore winter but you never know with the kind of winters we've been having. I like to plant a salad for them if you don't do soil samples it's the way to go. It's a little pricey but there will be something that comes up. with all the seed for food plots out now just plant a little of everything in all 4 of your mega plots and the deer will be there. of course we had to irrigate our food plots this year with an atv sprayer. just hit real good about a couple of times a week and it'll grow.

Planted 600 pounds of wheat and 200 pounds of winter peas today in 3 plots. Planted 300 pounds of wheat and 50 pounds of rye grass last week at our lease on fire lines, skidder pads and road edges. Get'n a good rain right now. Come on hunt'n seasons.

    Hi Folks,
We have had a few showers but nothing to speak of really. One of the plots is an inch tall already from last weekend.

Forget the deer.:smile2: Its been so dry in Virginia my turnips, kale, mustard, and creesy salad has not even germinated. I can't remember the last time it rained. I sure am going to miss my greens. Deer will miss them also.:sad2:

I planted 300 lbs of wheat on Sunday and we got 3 inches of rain yesterday morning. With the rain and fertilizer it should get a good start.
