This is how I make my floats:

    Mat. list
    1 ea 1/2" pvc caps
1 ea threaded 1/2 pvc cap
1 ea 1/2 pvc male adpter
    1 pc 1/2 pvc pipe ( 5,7,9, or 13" ) long
    1 pc of noddle ( 5,8,9, or 13" long

    Instructions

Drill a 5/64" hole in both caps
cut your pvc and noddle to the size you want ( the 12" will support about 12oz + or - )
push the pipe threw the hole in the noddle
now glue the cap and male adpter on
    now screw the cap on
i put reflective tape on mine so i can see the at night

looks like the treaded cap would make it easier to put your line through the float " slip float "..????
