My buddy and I are looking at doing a float trip down a river this coming up week. Just fishing and having a good time. We are in Rose Hill. But are willing to travel a few hours to a river. Anyone have any suggestions?

We are planning on being out on the river for prolly 2-3 days.

    Thanks for your input.

You might want to wait until there is some water in the rivers.:smile2:
The only ones you can legally float down are the Ark and the KS. I doubt you would want to mess with the MO.
Long drive up north, or wait a few weeks and do it down here.

I was on the ark north of oxford and my boat broke down. It took me about 4 hours to get back to the ramp and all I could think about was that movie. HIBBY JIBBIES:crazy:

the MO river would be cool. heck, ol Huck Finn braved the Mighty Miss on a log raft. i went from St. Marys to Topeka on the Kaw with no problems. just should of took food cuz it took longer than we figgered.

It always seems to take longer than you figure it will, no matter what the activity:wink:

Ok here is what I can tell you about the MO. From St. Joe, mo its 8 hours to atchison, ks. and around another 8 to leavenworth. I think it would be a similar distance to the Kaw but I dont know. That is strictly float times, if you paddle your times are going to be shorter. The river is up right now and has a little trash floating. give it a couple days with no rain and it should clear up. BE CAREFUL, WEAR YOUR PFD.

waters still cold in my opinion, but come to ellinwood this summer and we will float the river for at least 7 miles running lines all the way.
