I may try to check out the Flint just above Molena and the flatshoals road crossing on that day. For what it's work the weather is forcasted to be quite warm, with rain the next day. Of course that far out it's really just a guess.

Now the bad news is that I only have a Kayak, space is tight.

I'm good with bank fishing, but flatheadslayer might have some advice on that. Is bank fishing a possibility in this area?

Of course you might have a boat I don't know and I can get a tow :smile2:

I don't mind paddling up stream, but I would be limited to a couple - three miles. But from what I understand, there is a nice spot within about a mile of the bridge.

I've not been to this spot, but based on the google maps view, it looks good.

I'm up to meeting with anyone on that Thursday at Flatshoals road as it cross the flint. Open to other ideas too but that is what I have in my mind.

Actually speaking of the Flint, if one is bank fishing on the flint and trying not to drive too far (from Butler GA) ... it does seem hwy 98 between is on option at least as far as access for bank fishing. I like Hwy 128 toward Roberta if I have a boat, but the bank fishing to me isn't as good as 96 due to access.

I've not tried anywhere else on the Flint for bank fishing.

it's real good for a trolling motor after you pass the first set of shoals.its not a big set of shoals.i get thru them easy.

Are the ramps at 96 and 128 ok for two wheel drive?

yes, unless its following a rain where the river rose 5 or 6 ft. and when it drops there 3 or 4 inches of mudd up the ramp.then if you got 2 wheel drive you'll have to give it a couple of days for the other trucks to clear it off.to answer your question yes,95% of the time.

at 96 i would'nt recomend doing that,it's like one big log jam for 10 miles either way.at 128 you'll be fine just be careful to start with, theres not a lot of trees and rocks there but there is some.mostly sand that your gonna hit there.

that'll work, just make sure you got a good batt. cause it gets pretty swift up river.
