I had the same thing happen to me,,, only a LMB ate my bluegill, and then ,,I am assuming a very large flat grabbed the bass,, ,,I could barely turn or stop the thing,, managed to finally start it towards me, and, the Flat either let go of the bass, or something,, anyway,, I never saw the last fish, but, pulled in a 4# bass, that was all messed up.. mostly scaled, dorsal fin all but gone,, eyes bugged out..
I would've sure liked to, at least, have seen what swallowed that!!!
IT was fun,, I pulled the bluegill out of the bass,but the bass on a stringer, and tossed the bluegill out, and caught an 8# channel off that,, !!!
Productive little bluegill!!

No surprise here. Those flats will feed on it if it swims by.
