Flathead catfish RIGHT NOW

    I havnt fished this time of year for flatheads. Have they started moving down river? are they in deep holes yet? I live in illinois I fish a small small river what advice do i need I i were to go fishing and what should I look for?

    I fish in small rivers in missouri, and they are moving into the deeper holes here now, just use some live bait like creek chubs, bluegills and you should be able to catch some. good luck!!!:big_smile:

    I forgot to tell ya to try in the middle of afternoon 12p-4p. I went today (sat) and caught a couple, always catch them this time of day in october. look for the deeper holes.

    yeah a buddy of mine has been catching them on the deep bends in the small river i fish.... so they are on the move.. time for them to feed for winter

    Deep holes with log jams at sundown to 1-2 hours after dark has been working for me.
