If you had to describe a yearly cycle of a Flathead how will you descibe it?

    Be specific. Areas may vary.

Me first, I live In Illinois. Coming from wintering holes from about 50 deg. water temp. they seek cover and current breaks (here about Mid. March) they feed very little during that time. As the water temp warms they feed more. About mid. to late may flatheads move up river to seek spawning spots. Thet spawn about late June to Mid. July. Then theyre looking for spots with deapth and cover. As water cools and rises they're back to shallower current breaks. when the water hits about 45 deg. In about late Oct. - mid. Nov. they pile up in deep wintering holes with current breaks where they wait the arrival of spring and start over.

that about tells the story chris. only thing i could add to that would be the feeding binges after a rain.

That sounds good for rivers and streams. How about Lake flatheads?
