Flathead catfish in the Youghiogheny River

    has anyone here ever fished the [SIZE=-1]Youghiogheny River for flatheads?

    Me an my buddy fish the yough about a mile from where it meets the Mon .. he cought a 30 inch or so flat outta their 2 weeks ago ... but then again that is kinda close to the mon.

    Have never caught a flathead on the Yough. Good fishing on that river get alot of bait out of it. I did hear that last year they stocked blue cats in West Newton.

    i have caught a few little ones but nothing of any size all caught before the boston bridge

    We see alot of sheep head and carp near smithton not to mention tuttles. But I have hear there are alot of big flathead near the hole I fish in smithton from the locals. Im not sure if its true, I havent got any from there yet. Anybody else out there fish in or near smithton?
