tonight i decided since the weather has been stable a good week to go on my first flathead outing of the year. only had a couple live bluegill so i only rigged one of my rods up for the flatheads. 7/0 circle sea with a 4oz pyrimid sinker. not 2 minutes after i threw out of my first bluegill my bell started to jingle. i was suprised at how little he loaded the rod, but i slowly realed in until i knew for sure he was hooked. didnt run or struggle too much so i thought he was pretty small. my guess is he tipped the scale at 13-15lbs. my new record and first of the season! woot!

Sounds like a nice flattie! I'd take one like that anyday. But ya gotta get some pics up of it. Gotta see somethin' like that. Congratulations.

    That's a GREAT start! :smile2:
Here is hoping you start catching more, and bigger, Cats in your fishing days ahead!
Someday, I will have to tell you a story from a long, long, time ago, about a boy that went catfishing one night on the Walbash around the Princeton area.

Congratulations on your catch Chief. I hope that you and your fishing partner are able to get around whatever caused you to fire him. Good friends are like record class fish...they're out there but, hard to find.
