Flathead catfish caught on Wateree River

    I would like to see that. I have never had much luck with any big fish from up that way. I hope he released it that would be a state record fish this fall when they are packing on the pounds for the winter.

    here is some my wifes hephew caught sat 8-11 on wateree river largest was a 41 lb blue.

    If that fish was 70+lbs that fellow must be a midgit and real strong one at that. I think he may go around 35-40lbs, but it is a real nice fish and the biggest flathead I have ever seen come out of that river. Thanks for sharing and the pics.

    somehow that beer seems to add pounds to his fish,thats what i was thinking maybe forty lbs at most

    didnt mention any weight huh,i guess there must be 2 flopeyes out there,ohhhhhhhhh noooooooooooooooooo:smile2:

    I thought the fish looked about like you guys said, too.

    Oops. I guess I thought the pics were of the reported 70+
    When I looked back through the posts, it sounds like it was pics of a different fish.

    Any pics of the 70+ fish?
    I'm still hoping to meet up with a fish like that myself one day.

    Forty pounder....no where near 70, but I don't think Flopeye meant that was the 70 pounder....no one got a picture of the 70 pound flathead...or the 52" blue.... :smile2:
