Me and dink were fishing last night and we caught a 15 lb flattie and she was all scared up.For the last three nights we havent caught any adults.we had caught a bunch of juveniles so I'm assuming that they are a spawning.Has anyone noticed this.

There was a fairly steady bite last night, but the fish were small. They were also pretty beaten up. So the spawn is here. When does it end?

Hopefully it'll pick back up in middle of july.Like you said you still be able to catch the juveniles unless you throw your bait on top of an adult that is spawning.

Females will continue to feed, as their part in the spawn is very short. Males protect the eggs and fry and will not feed for up to two weeks. The scarred up fish are typically the males, as they wear sores on themselves while protecting the nest. Females may have some bruises on them from frisky males, but the fish with sores on the head and backs are usually males.
