I wanted to start the season with a small tender "bow doe" and did just that last night. Now its time to hunt some bucks and Flatheads! Got her @ 20 yards with a muzzy 100. She only ran about 30-35 yds. Thanks for looking! olj

Thanks for the compliments boys. I always try to take a few does when I can. To me there is no better "freezer meat" than a yearling doe! If I get a buck he will most likely end up as sausage/smokies....olj

Nice doe Josh, those young doe's tender are alot more tasty than them big old bucks. Good luck with the rest of your season.

I shot another doe tonight. Three came in together Mom, yearling, and fawn. The fawn couldnt have been 50 pounds and the Mom might have still been nursing, so I shot the middle one.
20 yards broadside clean pass-thru with a Muzzy 100. I trailed her for longer than I should have needed to in the dark. Lost blood after 150 yards.:sad2::confused2:
I will be going back out in the am to continue looking. Hit looked perfect, I have no idea why she didnt go down????????? Wish me luck, I hate losing them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just got back from the woods. I found her bloodtrail right away, and followed it across the neighbors land right to a fresh gut pile.:embarassed: The guy must have watched her drop and took her home last night, because the pile had frost on the liver. Man I hope he enjoys my venison!!!!!!!!!!
