Fishing without rod or reel

    I love Hemingway's book "Old man and the sea" Do or have you ever fished in the same manner as the man in the book. I have seen documentaries on this type of fishing. I dont think I could be that brave.

    I have used a tight line where you put a weight on the end of a line with a couple of hooks and throw it out from the bank. Always make sure that there is something close by to wrap the line around if you get more than you can handle.

    i would try that i guess if i still had at least one rod/reel to use also.
    sure would make travel a bit liter or less bulky without rod n reel,
    but after buying all this fancy gear it would be hard not to take it along .

    I cant imagine catching a 50+ flathead by hand. That would be a record. The marlin in the story would have been a unbelievable.
