Fishing the Fox River

    I am goin to head up to the fox river around st. charles and woundering whats been working or what hasnt i am going July 15 and also later in July hopefully thanks

    I have not fished Fox River in several years but I use to fish it at So. Elgin near the fire station. Cut and live shad bait along with stink bait use to work real good, Give them an assortment of baits to look at and they will tell you what they prefer that day.:smile2:

    Does any of the bait shops near the Fox sell live shad?

    I HAVEN'T FOUND ANY. SOME BY ME SELL LARGE SUCKERS, SM/MED/LG GOLDEN SHINERS, AND FATHEAD MINOWS.

    Same, and I've used suckers with decent success. But nothing like the action I get from shad or something oilier. Do shad even live in the Fox?

    Have`nt really heard of anyone catching any shads on the Fox... Unless it`s in Ottawa where it dumps into the Illinois River. And the shops i have talked to dont sell shad because they are very hard to keep alive.
