On the hooch it always seems when the gates upriver get closed and the current slows to a stop almost. The cats just quit bitting has anyone ever noticed this. I've always done real good down river from a feeder into the Hooch after a heavy rain the fish bit real good in the muddy water of the feeder creek I guess the cats are sitting there snapping up everthing washing out of it!

I always did well at the Dam at Columbus Georgia.

Some huge Gar in that area when they slow the water down.

On the Arkansas River, many people feel that if there's no current, it's not worth getting out on the water. I can sometimes manage to catch a few with no current, but it's at least 10 times better with current.
