    Jim, what do you think of those Surge Rods? I've got a couple and they are awesome!! That's really the first rod I have ever picked up where I knew that I absolutely HAD to have it!! When you hold the rod, you will know that you are in the presence of greatness, LOL.

    Turtle, they are one sweet rod, those med. heavy's ought to be a great flathead rod with that fast action tip and alot of backbone. The heavys are to be good for miss. river using heavy weights...

    I have one gripe about alot of catfish rods, they dont have a ceramic insert in the tip guide..I bought a ugly stik tiger rod which was the same way, a 55 dollar rod and I use it one time and the tip got groves in it which cut line...I hate stainless steel guide on the tip.

    Have more than I can count but most of mine come out of dumperster and I rebuild them as for reels 98% of them are Penns.
