fishing rip rap on lakes

    i know they say to fish close to the bank, but on rip rap is this possible do to the snags, i went out last night and had to fish 20 yards out is that to far the about 12 feet deep is that to deep at night

    shouldn't be too deep, depending on how fast the bank drops. rip rap is the only place i will fish a slip cork. throw about 5 feet off the bank as far as you can, and reel in very slowly. i use cut bait like this and do pretty good.

    I live by this rig in rocky areas. Mainline(80pd braid) to barrel swivel. Hook leader (80 lb braid) to the same eye of the swivel. On the other eye I use 25 lb mono to tie my weights on. I actually plan on them getting snagged.Called a sacrifice rig.
