Monday, April 20th, Vern and I got out for a bit and what a day it was. The bite was so intense for the first couple hours we had to go to two rods a piece. Within the first five minutes, I had one on that pulled off and the next second I had a dandy hooked that turned out to be my new PB Blue for 2009, a 62 Pound Blue. While fighting this fish and yelling at Vern to get ready with the net, He was busy himself having two fish on at the same time both of which being nice fish. I was finally able to get this beast to stop peeling drag and turned him toward the boat with him then swimming right at us. Vern the best net man ever managed to get the hog head in the net. After weighing him on my 50 Pound berkley scale he weighed 62 Pounds. Who knows, he may have really weighed 80..lol anyway, he was a beast and my new PB for 2009. I cant believe I managed to beat my old PB of 55 Pounds from last month. All in all it was a great day with 11 fish being boated. Here is a couple pictures of this beauty for your enjoyment.

That fish looks more than 62#. He's a hog!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations on your new PB. With a 55 as an old PB, and a 62 as a new PB, I think it's time for somebody to get a bigger set of scales.

Thanks for the report and the pictures.

Nice fish. Congratulations on a new PB and a great day on the water. It's hard to tell just from a pic but I'll bet 62 is pretty close. Time for some bigger scales. I hope you beat that one next month!

Yea, you all are right as rain about needing a bigger set of scales. I had a set of the coffey scales that lasted no time. Im gonna have to get me a set of spring loaded scales soon or at least something thats weather proof. Thanks for all the replys about my new PB. rspd507
