Fishing on the Kanawha

    Anyone having any luck on the Kanawha catching Cats?:big_smile:

    I have always wondered what the conditions of the fish there is with all the chemical plants .

    They have limits on the amount of fish you can eat of certain species. The fishing is usually good but I don't eat the fish so I don't worry about the restrictions. As far as the chemical plants go we have extreme limits placed on their discharges and they are constantly monitored. Fish kills are almost non-existent these days. The outfalls from the plants are actually good places to fish and catch bait. The fish like the temperature difference.Phil

    I grew up in WV and back then I would never have even thought of fishing in that area . I eat alot of smaller fish as do my children so I usually try to avoid fishing such area's . I also feel bad turning loose bad hooked fish to only die later . Just my thoughts . Good luck fishing !
