Well it looks like my territory for work is going to expand a little futher North and I will be coming to work in the Kansas City Area probably four or five times a year. I'll be in town for at least three nights during the week and would rather be fishing than sitting in my hotel room. I follow the Kansas threads quite a bit and know I want to be fishing the Kaw and Missouri rivers of course. What are your guys recommendations for someone who's never fished these rivers before. Locations to get bait and set up for a night of fishing. Thanks

Chris, will you just be bank fishing or will you have a boat? It depends on the time of year and the river levels as to where the best places to fish are. Hopefully we can gettogether and do some fishing when your in KC. I live in Atchison about 50 minutes from KC but am originally from the KC area and fish in KC as much as the gas prices allow me.

I think most people here will tell you outside bends in the river, along with behind and infront of the dikes. It all boils down to the time of year really though. Right now people are catching them on the flats between the dikes. Useing bait like shad and cut carp. Although I have not fished in the winter time. Everyone tells me you have to search a lot of dikes to find the hole that is holding the fish. Just drop us a post when your going to be in the area. I'm sure someone would be willing to take a night and go fishing with you.

I will be fishing by bank only. I have a company car for work but they won't allow hitches to be put on them. It's probably best that way because I doubt I would get any work done if I could bring my boat everywhere I drive. Anyway I'll be working more than just Kansas City probably about a 50 mile radius around the metro. If you guys fish during the week I would like the company for sure. I be up later this month and then starting again in early spring.
