Fishing for catfish in the mornings and catching redeyes!!!

    anyones have problems with redeyes while fishing for cats?

    i take it your fishing with some kind of worm so you need to put on a smaller worm and catch you some supper.if they really upset you cut the head off one and fish with it.that should take care of the red ears.

    I don't know about catching gills while catfishing. I think your using a hook that is to small.

    I take it that u was using worms, I dont use worms much for cat bait anymore unless I am using nightclawers. Your hook might be to small.

    no worms using cut bait on 3/0 circle mostly large minnows, i dont think the river i fish has a whole lot of channels because people dont catchh and release. i have caught some 5 pounders out of the river, but redeyes hit before cats, any ideas?
