I went down to the tailwaters of the KY Lake(TN river) and Barkley Lake(Cumberland river) dams yesterday. Water levels were very high due to the rain. Was fishing for walleye or saugeye(no luck), but am thinking about trying for cats. With it being winter now, wonder how fishing behind these tailwaters for cats would be? Worth trying?

A few yrs ago some friends and I went below Ky dam in jan fishing for stripers. One guy caught one striper in three days, but I did catch a couple of cats, nothing big (6-8#). Dress warm, we had a hard time getting the baitwell open one morning cause it was froze shut.

Wonder how the front of those dams would be?
