Terrible news!! Do we seem to hear this more with duck hunters or is it just my imagination? Regardless, it is truly sad news. Be careful out there, especially this time of year when the water temps are falling fast.

Here's a link that is updating this situation.

If your sick, elder to the point that you cant swim to shore from distance you plan on being out, have any physical disabilities, etc DON'T GO OUT ON A BOAT BY YOURSELF!!!

I know there's a lot of old timers on this site with a lot of pride, machoness, independence, etc but be honest with yourself when the time comes that its not safe to go out alone. even us younger outdoorsman need to be careful and probably shouldnt go alone.

In the military, we have battle buddies, when diving you never leave the side of your swim buddy for a reason, etc. There are dangers out there!

We never think it will happen to us, but it always happens to someone! Taking someone with you may save your life!!!

WELL, I am almost 67 years old now. If I have a choice between falling in or a nursing home, I'm gonna get wet.

my prayers are sent for him and all of us young and old should always wear pfd's and try to be very careful on the water. water has no compassion!
