Fished the James on Saturday the 20th.

    Thanks for the info fellas. Never had been before so I just said "near Hopewell" from a lack of knowledge about the area itself. I was never considering taking my kids out on big water on a windy day. After looking at the map I saw that the river was a lot narrower up closer to Richmond and thats where we went. Was a little windy, though not too bad. My 11 year old decided to stay home so me and my 7 year old went together. Got on the water about 11:00 AM and was back on the trailer well before dark. Ryan caught 3 blues by himself, 4 lb, 6 lb and 27 lb. Pretty good day I thought for a first trip to a new place. Also, was the first time we've ever tried circle hooks. They work great for kids.

    Thats for sure, its always good to get a kid hooked on it too. I was hooked when I was little and have be a fishin freak ever since. Not only for kitties either, All types.
