Lowrance or Eagle. You can't go wrong with either.

Nicole, welcome to the BOC. I hope you and your husband will hang around and enjoy the site. Lowrance makes an excellent unit, as is the Eagle, which is made by lowrance, but is usually less expensive. Without knowing how much you intend to spend, or what use he will put it to, it's hard knowing what to suggest.
If you go to the Lowrance website http://www.lowrance.com/Products/Marine/default.asp you can look at their products. Reading the posts under the BOC thread pertaining to electronics review http://www.catfish1.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=327 there is a lot of information. Otherwise, feel free to ask any specific question you may have, and someone will certainly be available to help you. Feel free to pm me if you need to. :smile2:

I would say spending range to be under $400. The use, we do most fishing in lakes and rivers nothing big though. I'd like to get him one that has GPS and color screen.
And my husband is already on this site and enjoys it alot, but I dont want him to know that Im here looking for information for the fish finders. I want it to be a surprise, so hopefully it will turn out right for me!
