Probably not posting this in the best of area but i need a good Catfish badder recipe for tonights fry.

I generally only use Andys fish seasoning for bass, Crappie, etc.

But my wife wont eat a catfish she says its mushy. I pulled some flathead out of the freezer and dont want to disappoint her, She said she would try one piece.

Im not apposed to a badder, but not a heavy Long John Silver heavy kind.

Im leaning on just rolling it in andys with cornmeal too.???

Can some one give me some tips on a favorite for Catfish.

    Thanks, Manny

Shore lunch origional fish breading is good. Shake and bake chicken is also good if you cant find the shore lunch. Wally world carries shore lunch usally. I like the dry breading mixs over a batter mix.

I like Bass Pro Louisiana Cajun flavor that many stores will carry. My mom does some egg bath, sour cream, mustard, and her own mix that is the best I have had. I have no idea of what and how exactly it goes, but man is it good. She better tell me one day before she's gone <lol>. Even with her son she is not going to give up any fish secrets easilly.

Stick with the Andy's. Cut the catfish into small strips that are no more than 1/2" wide. It's a lot easier to get the fish firm on the inside and not over cook the outside. When they firm up it's almost like eating chicken.
