    Hey Brothers,

My first try with a slip bobber rig, and it took me a whopping 10 minutes to hook, and another 10 minutes to land my new personal best flathead. PB on R&R anyway! 30.5 lbs. His head looked like he should have wieghed 40# at least, but I think the hole he was in is pretty depleted of food. Regardless, he put up a hell of a fight, and was released in our 20 acre lake, to catch again someday! I will attach a pic.

Jeff, that is one nice fish for sure. That thing looks alot heavier than 30. That is one great photo of a daytime flathead. What time of the day did you catch it?

Vic, This pic was actually taken the next morning when we got back from the lake. He was caught about 7:45 the evening before. We brought him home in that big tub you see behind me in the pic, and released him in our lake. Some day my baby girl will catch him again, hopefully he will be about 60lbs by then! :smile2:

His head was the size of a 40#, I think the hole I caught him out of is pretty low on food, he was pretty thin and small bodied.

That is just GREAT, Jeff, CONGRATULATIONS. Very nice flathead, brother. You're right, he looks bigger than what he actually weighed! Way to go! :smile2:

Well that really makes me feel good, to know that it helped. I hope you continue to have success with the Slip Bobbers, they are all I caught fish on this summer until yesterday when I finally got one off the bottom. Fun to watch the bobber go under ain't it?

You are right, he looks bigger than 30lb, but that is still a great fish. I'm so jealous. Not really, I'm proud for you. Keep the pics coming, I love to see them flatheads. grizzly

Nice fish Jeff. Like you said it's good that you kept it alive so your daughter can catch it someday.
