Donnie, My Son-in-Law has some some register blue tick coon hounds, the dog is a night champion, just one step away from grand night champion.

    Congratulations channelcatman & bigfatcat.

    Channelcat, did you trap him?

Bigfatcat, kind of neat catching a critter in a device you made yourself isn't it.

first and only coon i've gotten is old one that wouldn't leave my camp kitchen alone. had to shoot, then ditch cause in a bird preserve. we didn't want to shoot, but even after we smacked it with a limb, it kept coming back and since we were in tents, didn't dare leave camp.

well my uncle said he wanted me to get rid of a few skunks out at his farm so i went out there in the evenin and waited a while and this coon came out. got him with my .22 marlin bolt action. my cousin who runs a big trapline is going to take him and give me half of what he makes off of him. i plan on getting a few traps in late december and see what i cant manage to catch.

we wrap em in bacon and adds tons of bbq sauce, then throw em on the grill and smoke them for a while. they taste a lot like chicken:roll_eyes:

I like to BBQ the young ones, an old coon I cut up some potatos, carrots and apples wrap it all up in foil and bake in the oven. They make a real good meal.
