Ron (ronesche) and I went to Baldwin Lake yesterday. We only managed to net one 10" shad all morning. So we caught some bluegill for bait. Started fishing about 11:15 am. Second drift I caught a 31 lb. flathead for my first of the year. (pictured below) My second was a 16 lb. flathead and a 3 lb. blue made it three. Ron caught an 11 lb. flathead for his first. We had about a thousand pelicans as witnesses. I caught the 31 lb'er on that shads head and the rest were caught on cut bluegill. A good start to a great season, HOPEFULLY!!!!

That is a custom rod I bought from a guide at Truman Res. in MO. He had them made by a guy in Oklahoma.

Baldwin is a cooling lake for the power plant, so the surface temp. was 68 degrees. All 4 of the fish came out of 20-30' of water.
