Got out this weekend and decided to hit the creek early. Bite was sluggish but there. We ended up with 5 bullheads, the smallest two being just over a pound and the top couple being just over 2 1/2lbs., no fish over 3lbs. yet. All fish but two came on cut sand perch we caught fishing black drum earlier in the day. The smallest two came off some leftover shrimp we were just experimenting with. Suprisingly though, no white cats, which in about two months time with reign supreme in the creeks around here.

Nice! Those are some majorly huge bullheads.

    Were you fishing brackish water?

Didn't bring the gear to keep anything alive, and once I caught a couple of bluegills in the creek, we were already about done for the day, so I spared their lives untill next time.

Thanks, we caught the bullheads way up the creek were its fresh. We do catch some white cats further down into the brackish, but not the big ones we get upstream. And if we get any bullheads, they are real small.
