As we were leaving the Missouri gathering yesterday morning, i seen my first baby deer of the year. He could barely walk or stagger actually. It won't be long and they'll be poppin up like weeds, so everyone try not to run over any.

My grandmother just saw her first of the year on the roadside on the way to my place. I'll be going out to hang my trail camera soon to get some pics.

That little darlin was so spindley legged out there trying to walk it was precious...we knew momma wasn't far away and we finally saw her too on the other side of the road patiently waiting for "her baby" Must have been a doe that had had her first because it was a single birth apparently or the other little one was hiding out.

Don't they have single births the first year and then mostly have twins after that? That's what I have understood from my reading anyway...
