I went to High school in Colorado and made lots of friends back then but I've been gone from there for many years now and lost touch with many friends, so I thought I would join classmates and try to find old friends. Well it worked, I found many of my old friends and some have found me. Well a girl I knew actually found me and she is now living in Florida and is doing quite well and has 3 kids and 5 grand kids and can watch the space shuttle take off from her back yard. Now, she was never my girlfriend but just a good friend and we just got caught up in the world and lost touch. It was so good to hear from her.
I have actually found many friends now and don't ever want to lose touch with them again.
Do you brothers and sisters still stay in touch with your old friends from High school ?
I think it's very important to keep in touch with the people that have touched our lives either past or present.
Do you know where your old friends are and what they are doing now ?
I don't keep in touch with many of my friends from high school, but I do keep in touch with friends from the service. I was in Minneapolis on business a couple of months ago and passed a sign for the exit to Chanhassen, MN. I remembered I'd been in the service with a guy from there and on a whim called information and he was listed. Had dinner and caught up the next night. We hadn't seen each other in 10 years, but it's like we hadn't missed a day:smile2: I was at the KC sports show a couple of weeks ago and ran into a guy I was in the Marines with as well. Weird the way that works. I still pop into my old home town every now and then to see some buddies that live there and catch up, but most of them have been there since HS and I haven't lived anywhere near there for the last 18 years or so, so if I want to find them it's not too hard:wink: My 10 year reunion is in 2010 and I'm sure I'll see a lot of old buddies then.
I haven't seen most of my old friends in 25 years and I think getting back in touch with old friends is important. I found out that some of my old friends were killed in auto accidents or work related accidents but I have 1 friend from High school that is actually a BOC member (Coloman) and he lives in Grand Prairie, Tx. which is only 15 minutes from here but he is now getting ready to move again but is going to Tenn. this time.Coloman and I had some pretty good times back in High school.
Just like the people that I have met on the BOC, I wouldn't want to lose touch with them either.
I know where a couple of them are and what they are doing. I have 2 or 3 that I talk to a couple times a year.
Funny you should mention this. The other day I heard an advertisement on the radio for a band that I aint seen in years. I have known a couple of the band members since we were in grade school.
I gotta go see them play sometime soon. A friend looked them up on the net and I saw a video they had on their website. (they aint updated their site for a long time, so I don't know where they are playin next.)
I have another friend that I was in 3 of her weddings!
I aint heard from her since she got married the 4th time. I think I must have been bad luck. Would like to catch up with her someday though.
We don't have a class reunion we have a school reunion. What that is every kid or teacher that went to Bellview School at Bellview ,Il get together every Oct at Pleasant Hill ,Il for visiting ,talking about old times and a carry in meal. That little school is no longer around but back in the 50's early 60's it had grades 1 -6. Mrs Ansell one of the teachers was there last year and she is now 90 yrs young. She was /is the best. Really sad that we only see each other just once a year.
The last I knew the old 3 room school was turned into a house.Haven't been by there in years.

I am still friends with 5 people that i grew up with they are true life long friends. They are like family to me i dont know what i would do if i lost any one of them. I dont even want to imagine that.
I've never used Classmates but have made contact with my classmates of long ago.
In 2003, wife and I were invited to a 50 th high school class reunion from where I attended school in Texas. We moved from there when I was in the 8th grade. I hadn't seen any of them or had any contact in 54 years. It was quite an experience! There was 21 attended that were my classmates. I remembered all their names and was able to recognize several. Couldn't believe how old everyone looked!! LOL
The prettiest girl in the class was still pretty but someone told my wife she had been dieting for months to get down for the reunion. It was interesting finding out what each one had accomplished in their life. The guy I thought would have made a lawyer or doctor was working as a yard/handy man in Lubbock. There was only one in the class still lived in that little town and he didn't attend the reunion.
Sad to say, but I was the only one attending that didn't graduate from school.
