Finally got one in my new spot , about a 3lbs Channel ,but it felt good . Also had something mess with some liver til my bait was gone , it would just ease my pole down a little then let off .

congrats on the new spot and the fish. The fish here have been hitting like that here also, I think it has to do with the storms here though.

I don't know all the answers but, if this new spot only gave up one nice fish in all the time you have fished there, I think you need to find two or three new spots and move from one to the other till you hit them consistently. With this hot weather we have been haveing, a hot spot should be giving up several fish per trip. My hot spot gave up cats last night on worms, fresh liver, bait shrimp, and shad guts. I read where catfish have amazing sense of taste and smell. So, he takes a pull on a bait and instantly he either likes it or lets go of it because something doesn't apeal to him,(gasoline smell, etc.). Just my opinion. primitive
